stock turbo specs
stock turbo specs
Ok, I spent about 30 minutes earlier today and about an hour just now trying to find specs for the stock turbo on 600 and 610 engines. I'm tired of looking so I'll just ask.
Now that ATS has finally released wheel specs for their turbos, I want to compare my 3k to a stocker to see which might be better suited for a compound setup with an s400.
I'm looking for the inducer and exducer size of the compressor wheel as well as the drive wheel. If I remember right, the exhaust housing is 9cm.
Thanks for the help.

I'm pretty sure that's what I was told once when I called HTT last year. I'm just looking for a little more info than that.
chrleb1 - The exducer is not a wheel. Inducer and exducer reffers to the front and back edge of the wheel. So a compressor wheel has an inducer and exducer. For example, my 3k has a compressor wheel with an inducer of 57mm and an exducer of 81mm. The ratio of those two numbers is the "trim". So the 3k has a huge trim. What I am trying to find out is what the exducer side of the stocker is so I know how much less trim it has, as well as info on the drive(exhaust) wheel so I can compare it to the 3k. I know the 3k has a much larger exhaust housing.

More like 62mm @ the inducer.
Vendors will always try to say their turbo is "bigger" rather than just tell the truth. Heck sometimes they just dont know any better.
Ask the guys at HTT if they even have a Cummins in the parking lot....I bet the answer is no.
The advantage of the aftermarket turbos with 62 wheels up front is that they use a larger turbine housing and have larger turbine wheels that allow your engine to really breathe on the top end.
57/58mm is where the 03/04 555 turbo's were at (@inducer/compressor)
