Stock Radio removal

Hey all, just bought a new Kenwood C.D head unit.

Hoping to install in the next few days.

What's the easiest way to get the factory radio out?? Looks like a different setup than my ford.

(I also bought the dask kit to make th radio fit the oversize Dodge dash hole)

It's pretty easy to take out. If your truck has the little flip-up door over a 12v power point (my '98 had one, the '02 doesn't, so I'm not sure about yours), there's a screw inside there to remove first. Then just pry the bezel off. If you have a tilt wheel, tilting it all the way down helps. After that, four bolts hold the radio to the dash. 3/8 or 10mm, I think, but I could be wrong. Yank the wiring harnesses and the antenna out of the back of the radio and you're all set.

pop off the dash trim ring (just clips on no screws). once you get that off there is two or three screws that hold the stock stereo in. did you get a harness that will plug into the stock plug and wire to your new stereo. if not you should get one. hope this helps you out. i done mine from start to finish in one hour. its the easiest mode so far.

Also, if you have the Infinity system (has the equalizer on the radio and the tweeters on the A-pillars) hook up the ANT wire. For some reason it is labeled antenna, but it is actually to turn on the external amp for the factory system.

I didn't know about that when doing mine, and fought around for a couple hours until I finally came to this great place and had an answer in a few minutes.
