Steering wheel radio controls inoperable
In my 2002 2500 the radio controls on the steering wheel have seemed to stop working. I didnt see any fuses that were designated for this and I dont think any fuses are blown. Any ideas as to what is wrong?

This happened on mine as well.
There's a connection at the back of the radio for your steering wheel controls. The connection has been disconnected. Plug the wire back into the radio and they should be up and working again.

When the clockspring fails it usually begins with one item not functioning properly/or at all, then another, then another......and they usually all have something to do with the steering wheel (like have controls there).
My wife's Durango went Ka...poot. It was first the cruise control, then the air bag light, then somethng else. Wasn't too difficult to change out, but it seems I read on this forum some of the years had a recall and the dealer would take care of the repair. Might search that out.

warranty fixed mine but the truck still had warranty. The funny thing was my dealer said that our trucks didn't have a clockspring, but I took a print of something I got on here and showed them the TSB and they said "OK maybe there is one". I hate how the dealer doesn't take our word on anything. There was one and they fixed it and there was a recall.

I had this issue on my 01. My volume button would change the station. I pulled the air bag off then pulled the switch out. If you look at it, you will see that when you push the button, it "should" contact 2 pieces of copper. On mine, one piece of copper was slightly bent from years of use. I carefully bent it up a little and hit the assemply with some light sand paper and contact cleaner. Put it back together and life is good again.
