I currently have a Rancho stabilizer on my 2500 but on my past trucks they tended to not last very long. I put new tires on the truck today and want to get a good stabilizer that will last a long time. Anybody every used a Fox? Other suggestions. As for duals I've been told they aren't really needed and not worth the cost for my setup but I'm still open.

Also, later this year I'll be upgrading shocks and of course the Bilsteins have a great rep but what about the new Rancho 9000's or anything from Fox? Bear in mind, I am not driving a race truck and this gets off road some for hunting in the back country but it is by no means a black diamond 4x4 nor do I tow major heavy loads very often, ~7K now and again but not much over that.

Well I have a Rancho steering stabilizer for probably 40k miles now and it seems to be holding up ok. Probably time for me to replace in 5-8k miles when I put new tires on. I also have Rancho 9000Xs all around. Once again they seem to do ok, at least as compared to stock. But I have never tried the Bilsteins on this truck, but that is normally what I had on my previous chevy 4x4s.

Fox is reported to be one of the best and at least from a pricing perspective it should be.

Maybe I'm a little **** about it all but when the stabilizer gets a little sloppy I generally replace it. True though, the Fox stuff isn't inexpensive but if it lasts a lot longer and works well it might be worth it up front.

if you're thinking about spending 'fox' money, i would seriously be thinking about kings or sway-a-ways. maybe someone with more first hand experience with them can chime in.

Why does it seem like the higher end steering stabilizers do not use shock boots?

I know that typically shock boots are not liked, because they trap and hold mud/dirt.

I just though that the boots on the steering stabilizers would help to protect the rod.........so should I remove mine?

i have the rancho steering stabilizer on my truck-this first one i had was still good after 50,000 miles. when i replaced my whole entire front end this past summer- i replaced the rancho stabilizer shock too. it was still good, but i went ahead a replaced it, since i was redoing the front end.

Hang on for a few weeks. Carli's going to release a Bilstein stabilizer w/bracketry which will lift it up and out of the way. I'm #12 on the list. It's supposed to be very cost effective. That's all the info Jesse@Carli could tell me. I would imagine a month would be more like it. They want to make sure it's right. It will be a single setup.

The Thuren unit is a good buy. Lifting up everything to the axle level though just seems practical. I am #12 on the" wait and see" list. If Carli's setup is not what I want,I'll save up for Defiant's trussguard dualie. Thanks for the input.

Okay, I'm not super up to speed on these things but with the Fox, does the clamp come with the stabelizer? Is that the "adjustable" part of the stabilizer? I've not used one but have heard very good things about them. Of course the Bilstein has a great rep too. What about Fox shocks for these trucks? Worth the bucks or go with Bilstein's or just the Rancho 9000's? I'd like to put something on that I didn't feel was junk in 25-30K miles.

The clamp comes with the stabilizer. What's adjustable is the nitrogen pressure.

Foxes, Kings, Sway-A-Ways are all a great upgrade on these trucks. I'm running King 2.5s from Thuren Fabrication on mine.
