SRT 10 hood paint question

My truck got major hail damage. I went with a new factory SRT 10 hood. My truck is red with black trim. The body shop suggested that I paint the insert on the hood black to match with the truck. I agreed. Yesterday I went by the shop to see how things were coming along......it has been a long slow process. They are still in the process of completing everything, however I did notice that the insert was painted red. They are not put together and on the truck. Since I don't know what it looks like black I don't know if I want to complain and have them paint it black. Has anyone painted their insert a different color then the hood? Any pics?

The little web insert is blk if you just want to leave that blk, or Bully Dog has some photos of a silver truck with the whole insert painted blk. I have not seen any red ones where the whole insert was left blk. My truck is silver and I just left the little web area blk and had the rest of the insert painted silver.

If you don't like it you can have Dodge dealer order you a new insert for around $9.00. I ordered a solid one for mine since i wasn't sure if I wanted to have it open for rain to get in. I still haven't put it in since I figured with the Texas heat it wouldn't be bad having extra air flow.

I'm not sure wich part you are calling the insert. Do you mean the part that is like a screen and let's the air in. Or do you mean the big scoop assembly that clip's in place. One is $9,,,one is $200.

Look at my pic. The black part is the insert. The red part is the scoop. What part did they paint red. On your truck, is the black part in my pic red?? Is everything red??

I was referring to the scoop assembly. The screen part they left alone. We were originally thinking of painting the scoop assembly black, now it looks just like Bad Ramer Jamer's.

SRT-10 hood. Is that a working ram air hood that connects to the air box.
Or is that just vent. Both trucks look real good.

the SRT hood is just an opening, not a functional ram air hood. Suncoast makes a fiberglass ram air hood that sends air directly to the air box/CAI, that looks very similar to the SRT.
