raise fuel pressure.
A friend has an 01 Dodge Cummins.
He was running about 10 PSI transfer pump pressure. His pressure would drop to 4 PSI under load.
He pulled his transfer pump down and got to messing around with it.
It ends up he pulled the top cover of the pump where the gear rotor was exposed. between the rotor and the inlet fitting is a spring. He fished the spring out (its a bit of a pain) He installed the original spring along with an ink pen spring which fits inside the stock spring. Put it back together.
He has 3000 miles since the mod, he maintains 22 psi at idle and 16 PSI under load.
Just food for thought, a cheap mod to get you by till a serious fuel system can be bought.
