Pull Rite SuperGlide 16k, who's done it ?

Installed the hitch & super rails on the '06 3500 last week. Went fairly smooth. One question: there is some significant bending/bowing on the front mount brackets; not the side w/ the mounting post holes, but the flat plate side. All 5 bolts on the bracket were torqued to the specified 75 ft lbs. Has anyone else seen this on their install ???

Any info would be appreciated.

Yeah, when I torqued the bolts down on mine, there is some bending of that outside plate. BUt so far so good, nothing is moving that isn't supposed to be

PullRite Response

Pull Rite seemed as if they had not heard of this before. Then they said "we've checked with engineering and don't see a need for concern".

Hmmmmmm, have you posted this over on RV.NET. A lot of guys there with a lot of experience. Like to know if they have run into the same situation. Just a thought.

I have the 16k superglide. I have owned it for a year now. I had it in my powerjoke and then recently moved it to my mega cab. I have had tongue weight in excess of 3k on it numerous times with absolutley no bending at all. Something does not sound right at all with yours. Can you take any pics and send them to Pullrite?

are you talking about the side plates that bolt around the frame rails?

i had my 24k superglide installed by a certifed installation tech, hitches is all they do

i have installed my hitches before but the 24k superglide weighs 375lbs
i didn't have the desire to lift it into the bed myself this time, i could have used an engine hoist but it just wasn't worth the hassle, now i just use the 5er to lift it out when i want.

long story short, the mounting brackets that span the frame rails will bend slightly when torqued to the factory specs, if they didn't give a little you would crush the truck frame

Mine does it as well. I had it installed by a shop in each truck and it did it both times. Either i have a bad hitch or they all do it. I' really hopeing the all do it.

There is a pic in my gallery. Not sure if you can see it though.
