Popped Fuses

I installed a new battery and when tightening up the negative post there was a loud pop!!! Truch starts fine but my windshield wipers and my water if fuel light stay on. Wipers won't turn off either. What blew??? I saw the flash near the fenderwell on the drivers side just behind the battery. How could this happen ???

EDIT: the oil presser, temp, charg gauge and vent blower fan don't work either!
