Plastic Intercooler under which warranty?
I have an '05 and it has the plastic intercooler end caps. 36K miles and no problems. Bone stock.
If and when IC blows is it covered by a 7/70 or 100k warranty? Since my 36K warranty has expired, I am curious.
If not covered, what can expect to pay for a new one with aluminum end caps?
Thanks!

How is the intercooler not covered under the engine warrenty?
The engine warrenty covers any part associated with the operation of the engine. I would read this to include the intercooler.
Or is it part of the emissions warrenty? A blown intercooler would result in poor emmisions.

The last time I checked this is the 3rd Generation Ram - Non Drivetrain no engine forum. That answers your question. The intercooler is not a part of the engine or drivetrain. Is the radiator and condensor part of the engine also? Check the warranty literature that came with your truck or go to the Cummins website. Lots of good reading.

From the Cummins website warranty:
This coverage includes:
* Cylinder block and all internal parts
* Cylinder head assemblies
* Core plugs
* Fuel injection pump and injectors
* Gaskets and seals for listed components
* Intake and exhaust manifold
* Oil pan
* Oil pump
* Timing gear drive belts and/or chains and cover
* Turbocharger housing and internal parts
* Valve covers
* Water pump and housing
7/100,000 warranty.
This sucks for me also, I have the plastic intercooler also.
Does any have a metal one that is OEM that they would like to get rid of??
