I Need Gauges!!

After reading all about VP44's failing and whatnot.... I think I need gauges.
(I don't even know what a VP44 is, but I don't want to have to replace one)

First I need a fuel pressure gauge!
Second - EGT gauge
Third - I guess I need a boost gauge (from everything I've read on these forums)

Now I have loads of questions, but I'll just ask a few for now.

1 - What range should the gauges be? (0-100, 0-15, etc)

2 - What should my reading be for each gauge?

3 - What is the Boost gauge?

4 - Can anyone give me DETAILED instructions on what I will need to install the gauges and installation instructions?

5 - Are those the 3 gauges that I need?

I have been looking at the Autometer Gauges:
Boost Gauge # 4704
Fuel Pressure Gauge #4711
Pyrometer #4744
Will these do what I need and are they a good quality gauge?

All help is appreciated!
Thanks Guys

I forgot to mention.... My stock tailpipe has fallen off.

What is my best course of action... replace the tailpipe or the whole system?

If I go with the whole system, what do you suggest?

I was thinking about 4" turbo back.

Stainless or aluminized??

Is muffler-less too loud?

First of all how about filling in your signature on what year truck, tranny body type etc.... and then look up WWW.BLACKCLOUDDIESELPERFORMANCE.COM and hit up Garrett and he can tell you everything you need gauge, pod, exhaust wise to get your truck in tip top shape.... he helped me so much with mine.... or you can call him at 715-498-0707 ...... Fuel gauge since i found out you have a 99 should be atleast a 20psi gauge, boost 60psi, pyro 1600*, exhaust i'd do 4" turbo back.... aluminized unless ur in alot of salt then amybe stainless if your wallett will allow......

#1. Fuel 0-30 PSI
Pyro 0-1600
Boost 0-50

#2 Fuel- umm..not below 8psi
Pyro-not above 1400
Boost-depends

#3 turbo spool

#4 I cant

#5 might want to look into a trans temp gauge if you have an automatic

I got all my guages from Genosgarage.com the instructions that they supply were excellent. Good price too.
Check out Ebay for your exhaust.
Enjoy your truck

Welcome, And ya replacing the VP44 isn't cheap. I have Isspro gauges and have had no problems with them and they match the stock gauges perfectly.
