Angry LOW dyno hp Need some tuning help.

I had my truck at the dyno and it only made 352 at the wheels the dyno isnt setup to read tq. but I was very disapointed with only 352hp. I was expecting at least 500hp.
Heres my mods:

HTT PRO street 66/13 stainless
Oring studded head ported bowls with 60# springs
215 pump, laser cuts, 4k springs, o plate,
rack plug, gutted afc, set at 500cc(can go up to 650cc if I slide plate)
.093 Injection lines, 370s
snow water injection (spraying just water)
Timing set at 18.5*

Am i doing something wrong when I dyno? I ran it up to 55, locked the converter, then punched it out to 120.

It would be easier to say if you had a video, Not all dyno's or there operators are created equal. Somthing dose not sound right with this, You should have atleast 450 with that setup, In my mind more!

What kind of boost do you normally make? Those numbers are really low for what you have. I think the dyno was probably just not a good one. I dont put much stock in anyones dyno except david dunbar's

It sounds like maybe the engine didnt get loaded down enough to build enough boost to get a good fuel burn..

The very same thing happened to me when I had higher power mods. Was expecting to see about 440hp min and ended up with 318! The operator just let it roll up to about 1300rpms and then MASHED the throttle. All it did was smoke and didnt get to spool. We tried it a few times and he just didnt get it. Then I found out he didnt even have it high gear. I just left..

Some experienced operators that dyno diesels know to use high gear, apply some brake, build up boost and then roll it on up. Sounds like you got robbed..

Dynos read torque anc calculate horsepower. You can calculate the torque: just multiply your horsepower x 5252 then divide by the rpms. Works every time =P

How much boost did you see? What kind of dyno?

It was a dynojet I think 248 it was putting a load on my motor and I was making the normal boost around 45-50. It took forever to get my turbo spooled.

Yeah alot of times with a gutted AFC laser Cut Dvs will just put out the fire so bad and kill spool up, I think if you put your AFC back in and played with it, it should help doing what it's actually made for when you have that much fuel with those laser cut DV's, to let it fuel gradually just my 2 ct's

intsall the afc, cut fuel back to about 450cc's (17mm rack travel) the pump is going into retard.

it has a rack travel plug, loose it and put in the stock one.

also install the stock injection lines no need for oversize lines on a 12mm pump

timing at about 24*

and tune the afc, youll have to tighten it up over stock will help spool up and torque tremendously

I can drive my s400 smoke free until wot, and it spools well for its size and i attribut this to a well tuned pump

from what youve listed this is a start to tuning it in

Today I put my afc housing back on and did the rack travel mod to it. I have the afc housing slid forward with a star wheel pretty tight and that helped a lot. How much should i slide the plate back to equal 50ccs? I also put my stock lines back on.

give it some more timing and see how it runs now.
with the rack plug try the plate in the middle without it you could prolly run it forward

What size housing? Or compressor? Seems like the Kentuky boys are all over the s400's

its' an 2.68 compressor which works out to a 68mm with a 2.9 turbine which is like 74mm it has an s300 exhaust housing machined to fit and an ring bolted on because s400's use clamps for the exhaust housings (t3 so it is direct bolt and wastegated)

it is slightly bigger than like an htt pro 66 (66/71) versus my 68/74 plus the s400 has a much larger shaft and bearings that the s300's

it should support low to mid 600's on fuel on a 12v, although I havent gotten to dyno it yet (excpet on a g-tech and it showed 580 with the tires spinning)

it came from kta cummins (Brian Block)
