Light duty diesel
Light duty diesel
What is the difference between "regular #2 diesel and "light duty" diesel? A store near where I work has the light duty stuff for about ten cents a gallon cheaper and the little voice in my head tells me to suck it up and pay the cash for the regular #2 and up with the additives.
I my experience, at least at bigger truck stops, they label the "light duty diesel" because it has the smaller nozzle on the end of the hose....where the "Regular" has the bigger nozzle for REAL trucks!!

there is no difference in the fuel [both truck pump and car pump come from the same underground tank, just different nozzle size] both are #2 in summer... once cold weather hits, they will switch to #1 [#1 is not the same as kero] so the fuel has a lower gel point so your fuel can flow without being heated..
now if it was off road fuel, if you are getting good offroad fuel, it is identical in every way to road #2 or #1 fuel other than color... modern off road equipment has identical engines to road trucks so you can't feed them garbage fuel... the color means no road tax on the fuel, so it is cheaper, but illigal to run on road, and fines for getting caught running it on road can be expensive
