Injector price!!!!
Just red freighted a new injector from cummins yesterday, was at my house before 10am-very nice. The list price was $413.00 but with the red freight due to my truck being down and taxes added it was $653.00. Then not to mention my injectors were way overpriced, and my total time and labor. These things better make my truck fly or I may hang myself in the shower
.
For the record the install is very easy I just made a mistake, using a flimsy custom wrench when re-torqueing the new tips. It let go and I sheared the pin that aligns the injector.
I will try to find a company next time that will ship or take the entire injector liven it up and send it back. The tips are a pair in the A**...

Thanks for the offer but I like to break my truck alone with no witnesses. No the sticks are pretty easy I would just rather replace the whole thing not the tips. But you have to learn somehow, and now I know how to and how not to install them. The worst part is it stole my thunder when I broke it so I gave up on the studds. I will get her running one night this week and put the studds in after a few non stressfull weekends. But hey I will be very good at tearin her down.

Yeah would have been the perfect time and that was the plan, but late on a saturday night I was frustrated and ready for a large drink....
I am working at my buddys shop and I can only work after hours, so time is a factor. Beggers cant be chosers.

Nothing like wrenching till 1 AM trying to get your truck back together for the week only to find out that when you fire it up an injector is bad, hangs open and the engine runs away.
Sure does wake you up fast when something like that happens.

Man you must live on the top of a mountain and UPS had to go to Tibet to hire a sherpa. I sent my 6 injectors to Texas overnite and got $4200 insurance and it was $220. But then again they lost mine for almost 10 days. KS
