Help with Killing Dowel pin in MN/get together
Hey guys, just seeing a couple more dowel pins run out, I am wondering if anyone in the TC area of MN has the tools to do it, and maybe some time to help? If someone does, maybe we could get a few guys together, and kill a few at one time. As long as I'm in there, I would like to advance my timing a bit. If anyone is interested, I should be able to get access to a heated shop with lots of area. (I suppose now that I mentioned that, I am posting in the wrong forum ) Anyone interested? I can always slip you a few greenbacks for your time
Thanks,
Matt Griffith

Crimedog, Just today I had breakfast with amartinson and we were talking about trying to get a group together in Mn. Possibly around the Hinkley area but it wouldn't be until summer. Waddya think? If there was a way to do it I could help you. Problem is, I'm about 150 miles north of you. I hope that someone in the twin cities area could give you some assistance.

Tom, I am on X-mas break from school right now until next weekend. If I can't find someone down here, we actually have a cabin up by Two Harbors, and I wouldn't mind the drive up there, if you have tools and time to help. Thanks for your concern.

If you come up this way I would be glad to help you. The only problem is that I don't have a garage to work in. If you go to Two Harbors you drive within 1 mile of my house. Were you thinking of doing a jig fix or a tab fix? I personally think that the tab fix is better. Try giving amartinson a PM since he lives down in your area. He might be able to come up with an idea to help too.

Prior to advancing the timing you might read this tech article: http://www.dieselinjection.net/frames.html The author/shop owner advises retarding the timing when adding HP to a Cummins.
