Help, Airbag, ABS & Parkbrake.....

My airbag, abs and park brake lights are staying on after I start my truck. The abs, airbag and parkbrake light will go out, but the airbag light will come back on and off with a chime, and the ABS and Parkbrake Light will flash when it happens. My question to any of the experienced electrical guru's out there is are there any common grounds or junctions that these share? The truck took a lightning hit about 5ooo miles ago. The dealer that did most of the work did not swap the keyless remote module to the new cluster. It wasn't until after the new keyless remote module was installed that this started happening. Any advice is GREATLY appreciated. The truck only has 10K miles on it so it's still under warranty. Insurance covered all the lightning damage. 2005 CTD QC No Mods. JD

I'm pretty sure they did not. I'm thinking the 3 are related some how. I'm thinking moisture is getting in a connection somewhere. The 2 times it happened was after really cool nights. Where exactly is the airbag module?

this is weird

I was just getting on to write a question about the same exact symptoms you are experiencing. I have the same exact problems and I dont know where to even start. my truck never took a lightning hit so maybe this helps you some. My truck is unfortunately out of warrenty but I believe that saftey funtions of the vehicles are like 10 year items? but I dont know. The other thing I have been noticing lately is that my truck will sometiems not start. I have to crank twice. It has to be something electrical because it always starts right up afterwards. I hate these kind of problems

Yeah, go to a few other dodge diesel sites and do a search for this. I was surprised at the similar problems these trucks have had. I strongly feel that the lightning has nothing to do with it. It started about 5000 miles after the strike. Fortunately I only have 10,000 miles on it with about 2 and a half years to go on the warranty. And I will be (hopefully) buying an extended warranty. It's only happening in the morning, don't know if moisture is getting in a connection or something, or a module is failing. Who knows. JDX

I read about different speed sensors for the ABS light. I think the one on the rear axle housing. As far as the Airbag light I'm thinking it may be the module. What exactly is yours doing? JDX

It IS a speed sensor. I am having the same issue now and have to fool some ECM things due to all my mods.

well my truck will be fine, going down the road and out of nowhere I will hear a ding. Sometimes I can look soon enough to see a light. Sometimes it seems like it is only the airbag light, but I might just be looking there first and not seeing the other lights. But when I can catch it, the abs light and the park brake and the air bag light are alle on at once. I have no idea what to do.

Don't know which one. Your dealer will have to do a scan and see which one and how to fool it or fix it.
