Unhappy Goes dead

A year ago when my truck was shut off on a humid day and at normal temp it would not start. like no juice or nothing. Then 45 min later it fired right up. My mechanic told me that the VanAaken box goes into a logical lockout and I would have to deal with it or place the ecm or pcm to a new spot where they would get more air. Well its doing it more often and it does not even have to be up to temp, like150 and it does it like at a drive through window at a bank while trying to be courteous to others. Sure enough 25 mins later it fired right up. Any ideas anybody??

I would have the codes pulled from the ECM. Hot start problems are an early indicator of a weak VP44 injector pump. The P0216 would be what I would expect.

I will have it checked soon and will remember that code. Now yesterday I went for a 1 hour ride came back and it started. Will that code show up only if it does not start? Thanks for replying by the way.

It may/may not show a code. We have run water over the pump, not the electronics and have started them up again, shortly after. Your probably close to a new VP44.

Goes dead

Well The code only read that there was a loss of communication and there was a loose battery terminal so we unhooked the negs to reset codes and I will see if it happens again but to clarify when I say it is dead I mean as if no power to the starter no tick no nothing. I am wondering if its a bad starter that was put on last year. Shop did not have time to look too much unfortunately.

Ok, thats a totally different problem than Hard starting hot..

I would clean all the battery connections and check the cables for rot. Then any connections to the starter and solenoid.

It appears to be something going on between the ign solenoid because if I cross the solenoid wires it starts. Still have to get to the shop
