Goerend Trans

How many of y'all are running it? What kind of HP/Tq are you putting through it? Are you happy with the way it performs/shifts? Any complaints about the triple disc T/C?
Anybody running a controller with it? Which one?

Got one on a truck coming toward me. Did some research, but there's not a lot of info out there. Haven't heard anything bad yet, and the price was right. $1K cheaper than my original choice and no core charge......

Dave and Bob have been great to deal with so far, and if you ask Dave a question, be prepared to listen for a while. He sounds pretty sharp. Matter of fact, he almost tried to talk me out of a new trans by telling me what was wrong/how to fix my stock trans, but with 178K, it's time for a new one. It's bottlenecking my BOMBing plans.....

I think Timinva has that setup and he is pushing the Hp numbers up there.

Re:Goerend Trans

I just installed the triple disk converer about 3k miles ago. I am only running an EZ and 275 (for now, about all this turbo can handle) this stuff is addicting. But I could not be happier. What a difference, tranny even runs cooler.

Dave is a very personable guy, gave me trans 101 over the phone. Will even take phone calls at his home on the weekends. The triple disk has a lifetime warranty, which will transfer to the next owner of the truck, if you ever get rid of it. Price is right, and if you plan on going high hp, Dave has the setup for that as well.

Give Dave a call, you won't regret it.

Re:Goerend Trans

Goerend Bros are just up the road a little ways from me and I can tell you they are get guys, have had that from many of their customers. They are superb about standing behind thier tranny. IMHO, they well run right up there with DTT or ATS, if not better, and I don't mean to start any wars. Give them a call, see for your self.

Re:Goerend Trans

Sounds like more of what I've already heard. I told him what my horsepower plans were and he set the trans up for that. I'm not planning on going over 500RWHP (neither did anyone else, right?).

Thanks for the replies....makes me feel better about putting my bathroom remodel on hold.... 8)

Re:Goerend Trans

I've had some email correspondance with Dave. He gave me some great suggestions and stated he'd be happy to work with a local transmission shop here to install and setup his parts. I'll more than likely go with him when I do my trans.

Re:Goerend Trans

I have done three trannies using Goerend Bros single disc converter and the modified Dunrite shift kit. I have dealt with Dave and he has done me right. Most HP is in a 99 with comp and 275's, he abuses his truck hard and still calls me every now and then to tell me how he beat a ______ in a street race and pat myself on the back etc. I am very pleased with the Goerend bros products and Dave is a tranny genius.

What exactly is this "modified Dunrite shift kit" and where can I get it and of course how much is it?

I have been running one of Dave's trannys for about 15k miles. You can look at my sig and see how the tranny helps to get some more power to the ground. With the way mine is set up I figured I would be lucky to see over 225HP to the ground.

Im pretty sure that is what Dave Goerend uses for his valve bodies. I e-mailed him about one just the other day, and im pretty sure he said $450 plus shipping, and my old VB as a core. I plan to get a VB as soon as possible for mine.
