Gauge Question?

I am new to the 1st Gen trucks and I see soo many of you put alot of importance on these gauges! My truck is very simple with little mods done(see sig) but I certainly don't want to damage the motor! Which gauges would you guys say is a must in these rigs? Thanks guys for all the advise!

In this order - Pyro, boost, fuel pressure. If this is a hard working tow rig, a trans temp gauge is a good idea - they do run hot pulling hard in 5th.

A pyro for sure, mine has stock injectors and will get pretty warm on a high gear pull like a mountain pass. I would think that with injectors and a stock turbo it would be pretty easy to melt one down. A boost gage is cheep and easy, it tells you a lot about how well the engine is running and how hard it is working. A good in cab fuel pressure is expensive. I am working under the assumption that the stock lift pump is not adequate and is just a little more expensive than a gauge. If boost is falling off at high RPM and high load, I would expect lift pump /fuel pressure. A tach would be nice but there are not cheep either. When she quits pullin shift! if you got a good pyro, boost, fuel, and tack you could spend 800$ on them. A pyro is a must have.
