Fuel pressure Question
I just put a fuel pressure idiot light on, set at 5 lbs. Going around town it never comes on, but put a load on it or WOT and it comes on. I guess i need a new lift pump. But i was wondering how to make a mechanical gauge to to put on there so i can check the acual fuel pressure.

You can get a mechanical test guage that goes on the schrader valve. But, you can get a mechanical gauge and mount it for about $50 total.
Also, put something in your sig about where your at in Texas. LOTS of people on here in TX that can help you out with just about anything.

I just had the "in tank" pump installed under warranty. Now I only have about 7 psi at idle and I can pull he down to about 3 psi at wot. I guess as long as I have some pressure things are ok. Sure is hard to get used to seeing that low of a reading though, after having 14 on idle on the old stock pump.

Check some of the vendors in the "Links" above and get you a GOOD mechanical FP gage. Also, it wouldn't hurt to get one of the "big" line kits.
Also, it sounds like your fuel pump is about gone. Don't chance it.......Go to Cummins and get the "campaign pump" or some other aftermarket pump.
Do a search for "fuel pump" and you can get a lot of options.
