Front end squeal
I'm getting a squeal from my front end and wondering what all the check out. Sounds metallic, very similar to a brake squeal. Mainly does it on left turns from 1-40mph, no matter if brakes are being applied or not.
Pads, rotors, and ball joints were all replaced over the summer. I've had this noise for the past few weeks and it seems to be getting worse, slowly, over time.
I haven't had time to get it jacked up and remove the wheels, but I can't see where anything would be rubbing. The wheel doesn't have to be turned full either; light pressure on the steering wheel will produce the noise.
Front axle u-joints seemed fine when I had them apart to do the ball joints, though I believe they're original (147K miles).
The bearings also seemed OK, but who knows. They also appeared original and were a bear to get off, even using the power steering method.
So what else should I check?
Thanks!
Dave
