Edge w/ Attitude Setup . . . advice?
Okay, just got the Edge Juice w/Attitude put in the truck and have a few questions. All the info for my truck's current setup is in my signature . . . which is relatively stock. I'm not planning on racing or running the heck out of my truck, but want a little extra get up and go if I have to have it. So, with all of the different features you can set on the Attitude I'm not sure where the values should be put at to keep the truck safe. Anyone have recommendations for: Max EGT Set Point, Max Boost Set Point, and target EGT w/ the Turbo Cool Down Timer? I turned on the transmission slip detection feature. Figure that if the monitor has the rest of those safety features built in that it would be a good idea to use them. It doesn't, however, give suggested values in the instruction manual (probably for good reason). Any advice would be appreciated.

Bbarnett,
Thanks for your setup!
Anyone else running similar or different?
Also, the Low Boost Fueling Adjustment (least smoke/response to most smoke/response) . . . what's safe on that? I don't mind smoke, but not sure that turning up the response to the highest setting is good/bad?

You still have very low tq mngmt. Level 6 at 160 hp will not slip my g-56, atleast it hasnt yet. Levels 1-5 dont smoke much but the hot will roll it out..

As far as the safety features, just remember that it takes a second or two for it to react and the numbers to come in check. In other words, if you set your egts to defuel at 1400, it won't do anything until it sees 1400. When that happens, your egts were on the rise and you might see 1450 or 1475 before the reduction of fuel catches up - so to speak.
So on a stock truck, this is what I would recommend.
1. Up to level 4 is completely safe. Levels 5 and 6 are ok for occasional use.
2. For towing you need to stay on 0 or 1. If it's totally level you can run 2 but keep an eye on temps.
3. Set your egt defuel at 1400 but set the alarm at 1300 so if you're towing you know you need to get out of it - if racing or short run you can keep your foot in it without hurting it. Lots of guys break 1500 on a 1/4 mile run.
4. Turn your max boost all the way up. You should see low to middle 40s on psi and that won't hurt a thing.
5. Cool down timer anywhere from 450 on down.
6. Low boost fueling set according to acceptable smoke or driving style. I have mine on 1 for settings 1-3 for driving and towing and 5 for settings 4 and 5 for romping.
7. If you find yourself in a situation where you want to beat up on somebody at a stoplight, you can temporarily bypass your safety settings by pressing the enter button twice fast.
