I'm getting my dually rear end tomorrow finally for my 06 single wheel I've been under it for the last few hours the single loose. Anyone have some advise or know of any threads showing how to undo the ebrake lines and the cluster of wires running into the pumpkin? Thanks for any help.

The e-brake comes apart easily, unscrew the nut on the front side of the cable, back it out almost all the way, then it just bends out of the bracket.

The cluster or wires on the pukin and the brake lines is tied to the vent, holding the vent piece, unscrew the bolt at the top, it is threaded into the housing. I believe there is a red piece on the electrical connector that you slide back, then slied a small flatblade screwdriver into the end slot and press down, that unlatches the plug from the stationary connector.

Take the calipers loose and hang them up with a piece of wire or bungee. I just took out the bottom shock bolts and swung the shocks toward the rear.

I used two floor jacks, one each side to support the axle, nuts off the u-bolts and lower the axle down. I put two bare rims on with a couple lug nuts to use as rollers, worked real good.

I put jack stands under the frame just fwd of the front spring bolts , jacked the truck up about 6"s off the ground, gives you plenty of room to work under it in an upright sitting position.

Took a total of 3 hours start to finish to r&r the rear end.

That e-brake cable disconnect I describe is located about 1/2 way under the cab. The lines can be seperated there easily. It is actually an adjustment point. When you re-assemble it, just run the nut back to where the dirt line is and your e-brake should be right on the money adjustment-wise.

Glad to help, if you have any more questions, just ask. And btw, when you are rolling the rears in/out, you can put a pipe on/around one of the spring perches to keep them fairly level. Once you get them up in place they will center on one of the spring assy bolts that hold the springs together and pretty much be right on as far as rear alignment. There is about 1/8th in movement when they are up and the spring assy bolts pop into the holes, the u-bolts square it all up.

Put a little locktite on your driveshaft bolts.

What do the ubolts need to be torqued to? And do I need to torque them, drive a circle and retorque them?
