Unhappy Blowing oil

Have a 1991 Dodge 12V 5.9 cummins engine.. I recently tweaked the pump to gain power, etc. Ran like a dream, lots of power. Today while driving it suddenly started missing and went to spluttering... blowing oil from dipstick and swooshing when holding hand over oil filler cap.... any ideas on what went wrong.. would turning up the pump have caused this. If it has I will kick myself. Any and all thoughts appreciated. I'm a newby so please be gentle.
Thanks

If you still have a diaphragm LP, it's VERY possible you blew the diaphragm and pumped the crankcase full of fuel. It'll blow all kinds of oil out the dipstick, draft tube and anywhere else it can when the crankcase is over full.

A blown front IP shaft seal will also fill the crankcase full of fuel but it takes quite a bit longer.

A melted piston can happen with power increase. Also a head gasket failer to a oil passage way will cause compression to bleed to the base and cause a skip.

Did you have boost end egt gauges in the truck? Where you working it hard or beating it when the problem started?

If you turned the pump up and don't have gauges its possible you did some damage. From my experiences in tearing stuff up, a scored cylinder won't show symptoms immediately for some reason. My friends commonrail was run hard at the track and then driven around town and didn't have a knock or blow by until lunch the next day. I also had a dt360 do the same thing, showed symptoms 60 miles later, but luckily it has wet sleeves so it was a relativity easy fix.

probably piston

Thanks guys for all the replies... closer inspection leads me to believe the #3 piston is shot... may have been ready to happen anyway.

Next question, where would be the best place (and least expensive) to find pistons...this is a 1992 5.9 6BT CPL 0804... OR would I be better off parting this one out? Everything else checks out pretty good. Getrag 5sp, HCI turbo, VE pump, etc.

A bit late now, but really need gauges first before increasing power. melted pistons are from to much heat ie high egt's
