"Big Honkin Air Filters" (BHAF) are standard TRACTOR filters,.incase you didnt know!
Most people are getting ripped off paying BIG for the BHAF "Big Honkin Air Filters" thats for sure!
What those people dont know is, that those filters are standard on most tractors like:
-M.A.N,
-Freightliner,
-Scania,
-Westernstar,
-Peterbuilt,
-Kenworth,
-Volvo
-A whole bunch of mobile hydraulic cranes and crawler cranes,
-And some ships.
Here's some Alternate BHAF (Big Honkin Air Filter) part numbers:
-Fleetguard AH19037
-NAPA 2790
-WIX 42790
-Baldwin PA2820
-Hastings AF1012
-Donaldson B105006
-Donaldson ECB15006
-Cummins 3912986
-Cummins 3924541
-Fleetguard AH19037
-Baldwin PA-2806 (metal housing)
-Baldwin PA2820
All of which are the very SAME,....but sell for a hell of alot LESS, at your local Tractor Parts Supply
I.E: Fleetfilter.com/NAPA got them for $43.78 bux!!! Here>>> http://www.fleetfilter.com/filter/42790.html
Class8truckparts,com>>> http://www.class8truckparts.com/cate...FRydnAodWlz9ug
Either way a WHOLE LOT LESS then what "Diesel-Performance" companies want!
Some of 'em want $199.00 bux!!! W-T-F
Buy some "tubing" and clamps from your local hardware store for a few pennies and your DONE in under $80.00
[EDIT] BTW it HIGHLY recommended to use a fitting filter housing for them filters to reduce the risk of getting dirt IN your engine.
Them little pull over covers they sell for WAY TO MUCH aint doin much as far as "dirt-protection" goes!
Or do what THIS guy did at CF>>>
-You can actualy get more miles out of one filter by using compressed air at about 35-50 psi;
blow from the inside out. with the hose only so you can get into the corners and actually end up having a brand new filter again!
You may need to tap the filter on the ground a few times to loosen up the dirt in the filter before it will blow out easily.
Using compressed air at a higher psi may damage the filter paper and allow dirt to get into your engine! [/EDIT]
Hope this helps keeping some hard earned cash in your pocket!
I'll probably get BANNED off this website for all this info, that can actually cost DTR some "BHAF" business,....I'm not sure if they sell BHAF though!

useing any compressed air on a paper filter is NOT a recommended practice. you WILL get micro tearing of the element. but I'm just a stupid mechanic and its your engine.
