I think I paid 32 bucks for a Fleetguard when I was running one.

GO Ahead and just buy the scottyII you will not regret it. I bought the BHAF and a couple of months later the ScottyII, should have just invested in the ScottyII to begin with. Thanks Don

Just ordered valve body from Suncoast. Will order torque convertor from same next week or so. Have to pay for all that first. Have to drive to CA. to get my son's car & all his belongings & bring home. He is a MARINE and will leave for Afganistan in march. > > >

Re:BIG HONKIN AIR FILTER

Just got the heat shield built, template came from Marine on this site. Made it outta stainless and swirl polished it to hide greasy finger prints : . Just ordered the 2790 BHAF from NAPA, price was $49 bucks. Supposed to pick it up on my way home from work in morning. If lucky will pull truck in at work on weekend and get all installed. Do I need a 3" to 4" pvc nipple to tighten clamps on ?

DuaneW.

Duane,
Dont bother with the PVC, the BHAF will slide right under your turbo inlet hose and use the clamp that is existing on it.

Just check every once in a while that your clamp is tight on the filter.

--Justin

Re:BIG HONKIN AIR FILTER

I would also get a prefilter from outers. $26 is well worth the price:

http://www.outerwearsracing.com/

KC

Re:BIG HONKIN AIR FILTER

Duane,

I don't have any PVC pipe between the filter and hose as the filter has a plastic section that the hose fits onto. I would suggest putting some weatherstrip adhesive between the mating surfaces of the filter to hose area. For extra protection I drilled two small holes through the clamp, hose and plastic section and then screwed in a #6 screw. Although rare, the hose can slip off.

Too much for me IMHO!
