ATF Cooler
I have a 2001 2500 w/auto trans which I have upgraded with a goerend converter and dunrite valvebody kit, but still have heat issues towing in the city and in traffic. The temp can rise above 250 in the city or sitting in traffic especially in the summer. I plan on installing a 1st/2nd gear converter lockup switch to help with low speed towing through the mountains but will still have problems from stoplight to stoplight in the city. Does any one have any suggestions for a new lorger cooler I can install?

A double deep pan such as Mag-Hytec will help with the cooling, it also has cooling fins,
or you could put an electric fan in front of the stock cooler to keep air flowing when the truck isn't moving very fast.
I have the same problem, stock transmission, just haven't had time or $$ to fix it.

I like the idea of the elec. fan , but it seems that dodge has gone out of there way to protect there trans. by detuning the engines and other cooling issues , so generaly speeking it would seem that you would have a problum to find 1st , maybe the fan clutch , but then the eng. would also be getting hot , still look for a prob. then the elec. fan will be giving you that much more help.
