antilock brakes help
Well first off i have searched though all the previous threads but i need more info.
Problem - The brake light and the antilock brake light come on and stay on.
1991 d250
Things i have checked.
1. Bled the brakes and the valve by the rear end
2.Reset the system by unhooking the battery or the connector behind the glove box.
3. Checked the electrical plug on the tiop of the rearend. It looks good. Does anyone know what the resistance is suppose to be. It has 3000 ohms or 3k.
4. Checked the code one long pulse followed by 9 short ones. several threads said to count the long pulse ?? seams kind of odd i think you would ignore it,
5. i checked the plug on the valve on the frame by the rear end. It has 4 wires. three of them have low resistance to ech other but the 4th is open.?? i think it is the blue one.
i need to get a book for this Truck. for right now a copy of this section would help.
one otherr thing when i clear the code it always comes back without moving the vehicle after about 20 seconds.
thanks.

I also checked fuse #9 it was tight.
One other side note. i really hate the antilock system anyway. I will not put money into it. with no load its just not safe. when it turns on you had better have a mile to stop.

If you don't like the ABS, just unplug em. I think the controller on a 92 is behind the glove box, (can't remember for sure, too many trucks ago), I never liked ABS either. On a slick or icy hill the truck is not going to stop until it hits something! I guess being an old guy, I will never get comfortable with ABS, when I stomp the brake I want to hear rubber burn and smoke in the mirrors .............
