Another transmission question,help!!
So after a few weeks of waiting I am now the proud owner of a new (to me) 2500ctd qc 4wd, just finalized the deal today and signed the paperwork. I was told the transmission needed to be rebuilt so I got a really good deal "really really good". Well I've driven it here in there while it was sitting in my front of my house couldnt help myself and what it would do is shift hard into second but it does'nt shift hard into any other gear or when I shift it into drive, reverse, etc. Well I drove it tonight an decided to see why the check engine light was on, so I stoped in at the local auto zone. Two codes popped up p1751 and p1754 apparently the throttle valve actuator is binding or sticking, anyways not really sure what that is. Anyone know if this is what is causing the trans to slip? It sure would be nice if it did'nt need a trans rebuild ecspecially since its already been rebuilt once.
Thanks - Josh

The TTVA motor going bad will make it feel like the trans is toast. The codes indicate it needs replaced.
While your at it, governor pressure solenoid and transducer plus a band adjustment check will tell you if you have a good trans or there are other problems.
Good luck.

Alright so today I changed out the ttva and while diving now it shifts smoothly an drives like it suppose to. But when I shift it into drive it jumps into gear(whole truck lunges forward) shift it into neutral from drive revs up too almost 2500 rpms, reverse same deal as drive. When its in park idles normal like it is suppose to but once it is in gear it has a rough idle, too me it sounds like someone shaking a jar of nails, thats the best way I can describe it. There is only one way the ttva goes in so I dont see how I could have screwed that up. Im just going to hafta take it to the ole steeler-ship.
Sounds like TC is shot. The sprag clutch is locked and you have no stall, and the rattle could be the TC coming apart.
You might get lucky and just need a TC or it could have hurt other things also.
