another converter quest
ok i have had it with the shifting of this tranny and guess i will bite the bullet on a tc and a valvebody. (looking at suncoast) my question is i run the bullydog triple dog on the lowest setting i may bump it up to the perf but it will never see anything higher. will i be ok putting in an after market tc and valvebody with such low hp upgrades. i guess what i'm asking is will a basiclly stock truck work good with the tranny upgrades?

Im running about 100 HP over stock all the time with a stock TC and a custom VB. It works pretty well. I imagine with a god tripple disk TC it would be awsome. I dont have any issues at this point aside from the TC being mushy.

If you're asking if the tranny will hold with just a TC and VB with your BD, the answer is yes. You can see in my sig what my Goerend TC and VB are holding. I don't do any high boosted launches.
On a different note, what is it that you hate? A VB and TC might not solve what it is that you aren't liking.

Id suggest going to a tranny shop and seeing what they can tune for you. I know my tranny guy doesn't throw a DTT in a truck everytime....he builds for the customer's needs with budget taken into consideration. He's also right here in Texas

the things i don't like is the mushy feel for a lack of better words. i don't like the way the tc feels like it is spinning until you get to higher rpms (which from what i understand the tc not grabbing as well as an after market tc). and i do not like the hunting for gears. what i am asking in the first post was if i put a tc and valve body would it improve the way the truck drives with it being almost stock (can i do this without having to have a bunch of hp? most i see with updated trannys have a bunch more power than i do.) 973604x4 who is the guy here in texas. im just south of houston.
