almost free nv4500

ok guys i need some help. long story short my friend is gonna let me swap my getrag for his 4500 with south bend dual disk. what i need to know is will i need to use his t-case or can i keep the 205?? will i need to swap crossmembers or will mine work with his trans?? will i need to swap drive shafts or get one made?? will my bellhouseing and his interchange?? will i have any issues putting the dd in my truck?? if anyone can awnser any of these questions or think of anything i might need to consider it would be greatly apprechated!!! i think i should be able to make something work cause i will basically have a second gen parts truck to work with sitting right beside mine but i also have to put my trans back in his truck cause his has to be "complete" when its all said and done. i will also be trying to do this in a weekend so im trying to plan as far ahead as possible. THANKS guys.

Never done one myself...already done to my truck by PO. But use the search function, use "NV4500", on this forum and start ready...TONS of info on swaps and related info.

You're gonna need to use his adapter plate, bellhouse, and possibly starters.....you will also need to cut out the hole a little more as i believe the nv4500 shifter tower comes back alot further.

Your NP205 will go right up to the NV4500, So I don't see why his transfercase wouldn't go up against the getrag since they interchange?

I am almost positive to use his clutch and vise versa you will need to use his Flywheel and clutch setup.....

the good part is, His engine is exact same as yours pretty much and driveshaft lenghts are same i believe EVERYTHING should swap right over and his Getrag powered 2nd gen should look almost factory if you do it right except for your gonna have to modify his hole in the floor for the shifter, maybe put some crazy bends in it too because it may hit the 2nd gen dash?? i dont know but i know the nv4500 shift tower comes up more to the back and you have to cut it out more to put a nv4500 in a 1st gen and then cover the front part of the hole since it will be open

You will have to put a "spacer" for the cross member to mount it. Mine is a 2x2" double wall square tube. I'd think the rest is a regular swap. I can't think of anything else that hasn't already been mentioned.
