Air dog must read

Have an Airdog 100 on my truck see sig. Went to start my truck this morning at -22f and it fired right up then I heard the fuel pump making noise, more noises than usual and it has been making adverse noises for about 4 months. Went back to the house to let the truck warm up a bit and grab my coffee went bak out and truck was stalled out. Restart truck, it fires right up then dies, does this several times. I think it's gelled so I drain the fw separator and nothing but ungelled fuel runs out of it. I check the all the other filters no issues. Found low fuel pressure at the cp3. I disconnect the Airdog fuel feed to the stock canister and plum the stock fuel line back in, then cut and reconnect the trigger wire for the stock fuel pump that was routed to the Airdog, took all of 45 minutes in sub zero temps. Turn key and stock fuel pump runs as designed and truck starts right up and runs better than it has in months.

Moral of the story, I left the stock fuel pump in tact when everyone else was hogging out the pump assembly to retro fit the Airdog pick up into the stock fuel pump housing. Several minutes of my time and I was up and running.

Now we are going to test Airdogs customer service.

Guess you will find out about their 'lifetime' warranty if you have it and how their customer service works. I hope you get taken care of really quick.

When you go to re-connect the air dog, put a DPDT switch in the cab, hook the incoming pump wire up to the incoming side of the switch, the factory pump to one outging side, and the ad trigger to the other outgoing side - then you can switch pumps from the cab. Get a 2 position fuel tank switch, hook the outgoing single heading to the cannister/cp3, hook the factory line to one leg, and the ad to the other leg, then you can just flip to whichever, again from the cab.

You can buy an electronic setup to do all this too, the aux tank manufacturers all sell them, one dash switch does both.

Just an update,

I called AirDog and talked to Anthony in the warranty department. He said send him the model number so he can send out a new pump assembly and bracket if necessary.

I have been having similar issues lately with my 150. Truck gelled up on me a few weeks back and I chalked it up to the -16* weather and moved on with driving the car. Warm weather came, I got it running and all was well, FP finally came back up to normal range after driving and adding some PowerService 911. I just drove the truck Wednesday and everythign was fine. Now, it dropped to -4* last night and despite hearing the pump running, it only shows 2psi on the gauge. Changed out filter and w/s this morning and threw a little Power Service (gray bottle) in the bottom of each and try again but no improvement?

Is this thing really gelled up on me again?

Hvytrkmech, did you get the replacement pump? Have you had any further issues with gelling?

I'm considering and Airdog 150...So far we've only had 2 or 3 days of temps <32F and certainly none <0. But, if there is an inherent design issue with the pump unable to handle fuel gelling, I may reconsider, and go to a raptor150, and add my own filters and maybe a heater.

Just FYI on the customer service... I had a pump take a poo, they had me a new pump in a couple of days, no questions asked.
