air bags on lifted application?
Whos' running airbags on a lifted rig. I have 4" of lift in the rear and would like to install some bags so truck doesn't squat when loaded. I am running full Deaver spring pack from Carli w/1" blocks. For those w/lifted trucks running air bags, what brand and are you satisfied w/them? Feedback much appreciated.

I personally don't have a lift or air bags, but I know you can buy spacers from Tuff Country for regular air bags up to 6" of lift. I think if you talk to Don Thuren you can get some long travel air bags from Carli.

Long Travel airbigs? Most applications just use a Firestone HD bag and the right size bag mount to fit your lift. You can buy them pre fabbed, or just have some fabbed up for your specific app.

I know Carli doesn't have them on their website but I remember D.Wiggs talking about them. Apparently Don had mentioned them to him. I don't know the specifics but supposedly they're available.

I would want to make my own spacers so I could get the travel I wanted. The no-drill kit is hurting for travel but I fixed that problem. It would be easy to use wood blocks to get to the thickness that works best and then build them out of metal. Craig

Actually, Sage has a set on his truck too, but he hasn't towed with them yet...I have. I'm test bedding the original set and Sage is refining the mounts for the 3rd gen.
Problem with off the shelf Firestone bags is they only have about 4-5" of travel.....you can run all the spacers you want to but you'll have to disconnect them somehow if you want to use all of your suspension travel.
I can tow my 11K toy hauler out to the desert, kick the trailer loose, air down the bags and hammer the truck through the rough stuff, then hook up the trailer, air up the bags and tow the trailer home. The system is flawless, and I'm only running the mock up.
Sage will have the 3rd gen bags ready for sale pretty soon, and I can say from experience that they'll be worth the money.......

I emailed Sage the other day because I had been waiting to get a set of his LT air bags but could not wait anymore and bought a set of Timbrens for now. I asked Sage what the limits (weight-wise) of his air bags are and he replyed that they are limited to 2500 lbs. Not sure if that helped.

JD Dearden, I would like a better picture of setup if possible and is that a ladder bar in background? I'm currently running Timbrens, but w/the lift they still allow truck to sag when loaded (which I hate). I've known about the bag system Sage has been working on and called his shop yesterday actually. For the first time I wasn't able to talk to Sage and the guy that I did talk with told me that w/3" springs (which Sage sold me) w/1" block and my 12" kings from Thuren, that the bags "probably wouldn't work". His only suggestion was that they could be modified but it would be real expensive, so I got a little frustrated and started looking for alternatives. Maybe I'll just wait for them to come out and talk w/Sage. He's always been able to give me straight yes or no answers and definitive solutions to any issues. Thanks for the feedback.
