92 clutch replacement

I replied to my other thread with this question but it really wasn't related to the original question. I don't want to double post but to get the right people to see it it may take a new thread.

I think my original clutch is done. I have 150k on it. Now the question. What does a job like that cost? I mean to have it done. To old for that now. Also is the best clutch and pressure plate setup the stock one or is there a better one priced reasonably?

thanks

Why do you think it's done? Is it slipping? There are a couple guys on here with over 300k on the stock clutch, they are very tough. If it's just jerky it's more likely the engine or trans mounts.

If it is slipping I'd suggest replacing it with a new stock clutch, see above. South Bend sells Sachs clutches, and that is what you want. Accept no imitations, and don't fall for the "upgraded" 2nd gen clutch.

Expect to pay around $700 for the R&R, plus the clutch.
