77 windshield into a 92

I've got a 77 windshield, will it fit my 92 or is it different?

It'll fit, all the cabs are the same from '73 to '93. The windshield in my '91 is from a 70's truck.

Tator, I just put one in my project 93 and they came to the house and installed it for 190.00. They gave me a lifetime leak guarentee. Its a tinted one too. It was Dirigo Glass out of Belfast. I think they said 180 if I went to the shop. Its 45 min travel for you but just a thought.

Well now I am going to have to take a close look at the 77 windshield and make sure it is in great shape.

Maybe I will see how easy it comes out and if I shatter it then I will go there and have it done. I would like to have the tinted part too and its going to be a pain to try to tint it myself.

If you are concerned about shattering the glass, consider cutting it out and then purchasing a new rubber grommet for installation. When I had my window replaced a couple years ago the new grommet was about $20 (USD)

Just a thought

to get them out it is easier to cut the gasket if you are useing the windsheild if the window is bad kick it out and reuse the gasket, mine was about 64 dollors if i remember right

Might also want to check and see how bad it is pitted before you go through all the trouble.

Every time I tried to reinstall used glass it would delaminate at the edge or it would shatter when I was almost finished.

The guys at the glass shop make it look so easy when they install one but like anything else it is a skill you only gain by breaking some glass.

I used to replace glass on transit coaches probably two a month but it was at least 3/8 thick and if it cracked and there was still a big piece left then the glass man would cut it into a smaller window glass then the scraps went into the trash can.

These guys have the gasket for $4.45 (four dollars) plus shipping (I don't know how good it is, it's made in Taiwan. I ordered it just because) It doesn't come with the lock strip so you either need that or reuse yours. My glass guy says none of his suppliers have the lock strip right now.

Should fit... If not throw a brick at it and only glue the pieces you need back together.

The $4 doesn't mention anything about a locking strip. The more expensive one does. The previous page has locking strip- $37.
