Can you tell by the VIN, if a truck has the 48RE, or the 47RE.

I am looking a truck, and that is all I have right now.

I don't know about the vin #, but was told a 48re does not have a kick down cable and the 47re does.

Not true, 2003.5's have the 48RE...including SO's.
