I sold my baby a 2005 cummins 3500 b/c i thought i would like a 3/4ton duramax better. well i went out and bought a brand new one in 2007 and spend a considerable amount of money on it to get dpf off and make it insanely fast. but i still hate the truck i pull a trailer for a living and im possibly gonna get a chance to buy my old 1ton back and wont my over priced d-max dont like it anyway and i want to sell it. i found a beautiful 2001 3/4 cummins with 112,000miles on it. It is not the H.O. is there a downside to this. i want to turn it around and produce alot of power but no nothing about that motor. truck looks great and runs like a top, is there anything in paticular i should look for? should i just forget it and look for an HO? i would appriciate any advice. much is needed.

 

No downsides at all! And easier power potential to boot!

IMO- the only reason why i'd like an HO is for the 6 speed....other than that...i love mine...
