Would this be louder than a 2nd gen w/ straight pipe? I pulled my muffler off my 98.5 and it was way too loud for me! I'm wondering though, since these new trucks are so quiet, if they would not be so loud if straight piped....

 

I tried straight piping mine, I didn't like it. It wasn't to loud out the pipe for me, but there was an anoying re-verberation in the cab while shifting through the gears...not sure if this is what others call the 'infamouse droan' or not - but it wasn't very nice. The diamond eye muffler (4" straight through) seems to have taken the bad cab noise away - and still left it pretty mean sounding out the pipe.

 

Where did you buy this muffler? Even my wife says the truck needs to be louder...
