Need info for Tow Mirror installation!
Hi guys,
I'm about to order a set of tow mirrors for my 2008 Ram2500.
I've read where I'll need some backing plates for my doors.
Can somebody point me to where I can order the backing plates? I'd rather get them online if possible.
Thanks
Donald

It's my pot and I'll stir it if I want to. If you're not careful, I'll stir your's as well!
No idea about the 2008, but on my 03 I had to change one mirror and there were no backing plates. Three nuts, an electrical plug and that is.

Ok thanks.
I think that the trucks with the regular mirrors need a backing plate to help support the weight of the longer tow mirrors......
Hope somebody can help!
Thanks

get them on ebay or your dealer. Install takes about 40 minutes start to finish. It took me an hour but i had to convert the plugs to fit my 97. Have a second person handy to hold the mirrors as you bolt them down.

My drivers side mirror is loose and it vibrates going down the road. How hard is it to just remove the glass portion of the mirror to see if it can be fixed or not?? TIA

I might be wrong but I think they are 10mm. Maybe they put bigger bolts on the trucks up here...we hit bigger bugs.
Real quick and easy swap. I use a cordless with a nut driver. Having a second pair of hands just to hold mirror in place is always nice.
