Looking for good ball joints and unit bearings. Not too many 2wd guys on here.

You never hear of too many worn out front-ends on the 2wd jobbers. That would lead me to think that any name brand ball joint would suffice.....but that's just my .02

As for the bearings, I don't think the 2wd's have unit bearings. I believe they are just regular bearings/races that can be adjusted....again, only my .02 as I've never worked on one of these.

Others will chime in with solutions and help and hopefully they will tell me if my info is wrong.

I just did my upper and lower ball joints on my 2WD. Go to Rockauto.com and order them for around half what the auto parts shops prices. I used the Moog parts.I also did the tie rods. If you order all the parts from the same manufacture/wharehouse, you save on shipping.

If you mean hub bearing, get them there also.

I had my lowers replaced with Moog at 185k. There are not strong enough to last very long. I am going to order the XRF's for the upper and lower. They are much better units. I know the uppers aren't really Ball jonts, more like a kingpin sorta thing. But I figured I'd replace them all at the same time. I found mine at The Tireclub.com for $30.69/ea.

Where did you find XRF ball joints for 2WD Dodge 2500 trucks?

Replaced lower ball joints at about 100k with Moog HD. Replaced outer tie-rod ends at 121K with lifetime warranty from Midas. Inner tie-rods have been replaced 3 times, last time at Midas with a lifetime warranty. You just have to ask for the best parts and warranty, they will do it. Will turn over 295,000 miles today on my way to Saskatoon. Also replaced swaybar link with Moog, nice and quiet up front.
