Need sending units location help for gauges

hey guys i am confused. I am getting ready to do gauge install Autometer phantom II i am trying to find the best place to install the tranny temp. It seems like a lot of guys are going the route of hotline. What about the test port with a sender extender. will this give me an accurate reading or is the hot line the best route to go? also i am seeing a few places to put the pyro on the manifold. Whats the correct place? i see the (top side of the manifold) as you would be look in down . I also saw that guys are puting it on the lower section of the manifold just up from the turbo to the manifold(it would be on the side of manifold.) has anyone use the boost bolt? ok i think i am done asking questions thanks a ton guys.

Alot of us have a bigger trans pan which has a port..or can attach to hot line. On the pyro, drill/tap on man. back on flange going for the rear temps. would be ideal...could google edge's instructions and follow, which I did. I used alot of grease on drill bits (several step ups-starting w 1/8th'' bit). Also grease on tap. Vacuum and grease on q-tips.....I'm ****...just didn't want NO metal getting to turbo.

Good choice on the hotline, it tells you a lot more than pan temps.

Click on the Pricols link in my sig and you can see where I tapped my pyro in the collector.

I am using a boost bolt now and am quite happy with it.

Yes, thats where you should put it. My pyro was originally on top of the manfiold, but I moved it and like the readings better.
