Is there a kit that you can do a delete and then put the filter back on for trade in?

I think that the question is whether there is a kit that allows the DPF to be removed while owning the truck and then reinstalled when trading the truck back in.

Someone else can correct me if I'm wrong but I don't believe that any such "kit" would be legal and so DTR won't allow the recommendation or posting of any such kit. Is that correct admins?

Well, that's a hard one...

I guess that it would be kind of frauding the dealer, or whoever buys the truck from them.

On the other hand, what's the difference in taking a programmer off to sell the truck, or taking it in for service while it's still under warranty?

To get on this wagon further, is a DPF delete kit leagal at all?

I would assume that taking the programmer and replacing the parts that you remove would turn the truck back to 'stock'. I would rather try to sell to a private person with the DPF delete in place than go through the hassle of trying to make the OEM stuff work.

Where have you been?? That is the main topic of conversation in the 6.7 forum. We all just sign the agreement that says we will drive in the grass on the side of the road to qualify for the off road exemption and we can talk about it.... LOL
To answer the question... Yes.
You can get a kit from H&S or BADP and it is all bolt on >> So you drop the old parts and install the new parts without cutting anything >> Then when you need to trade off and want to put it back to stock you can easily do that.

Or you can reinstall it for an emissions test and then pull it all off again after you pass.....
Install is actually very easy on this because Dodge finally got smart and used band type clamps to hold most of the exhaust together. The rest is bolted together with flanges and all of it comes off fairly easily...

Let's try it this way, what you're looking for is a DPF delete test kit. This kit would allow you to remove the DPF for testing purposes and then reinstall it after the test is complete.

Maybe its just me, but I see a real cluster now days for folks that trade often but alter OEM equipment. Be interesting how dealers and private parties handle it.

It will be no different than in the past... Lift/lowering kits... After market exhausts/mufflers... Stereo's AV equipment... Bedliners... bumpers... Tires...
Dealers know the game and have been playing it (mainly to their advantage) for years... I don't see how this is going to be any different.
