Truck will not shut off
Three days ago the engine in my 2007 RAM 3500 6.7 I6 would not turn off. The truck was only running 20 minutes when I turned off the ignition. the EGT was about 320 F. All gauges and panel lights were operating after the ignition was turned off. Drove another 20 minutes with no change. Bumped the ignition key into start position to see if the starter would engage. It did. Parked in front of my shop and placed ignition key on my bench (about 30 feet from truck) Truck engine would not shut down. Removed power to fuel pump to shut down the engine. Water temp gauge was still reading and panel lights were on. Removed both battery grounds and heard 1 or more relays click. The next morning I placed the battery grounds back on so I could go to work. The truck has been started about 10-15 times since with no problems. The truck does have a remote start, aftermarket security and tune-able chip. Both batteries and alternator are 1 month old. When I replaced the bats and alt I also removed and cleaned all of the battery leads and installed two new ring terminals. I also replace the alternator lead with an AN4 aircraft grade electric cable.

Was it in regen mode? My understanding is when it goes into regen mode it needs to run for 20'ish minutes. I however do not know if it forces itself to continue running even with keyoff. I assume it wasn't a runaway rpm situation?
