No oil pressure at start up, blow by

Hey guys new to this forum. Bought an 06 mega cab, 6 speed, 25k on reman motor 2 days ago. Went to bring it to my exhaust guy this morning and noticed NO oil pressure after walking back out to it. Give it some throttle and the "check gauges" light goes away and my oil pressure is restored. Also billowing smoke from crank case tube and valve cover hole. What is going on here???

Now you know why previous owner was selling. Sorry
Sounds serious, like a damaged piston.

Could be, but why would It just start blow by now? The several times I've driven it it's been fine. So when I started it this morning I walked away wothout verifying it had oil pressure, when I walked back up to get in and go is when I noticed no oil pressure and lifter noise. Then I hit the throttle, got some oil pressure THEN the smoke came. Could that be a "hot block" "cold oil" hence the smoke reaction? I'm not hear heard or diesel expert by any means just trying to think of what issue I could be having. This remanufactured motor has 25k. I verified invoices myself before I bought.

Wow, that's too bad. Looks like you lost oil pressure for some time and it continued to run steel on steel ... ouch!! The correct way to see what's going on with oil pressure is to shut the motor off immediately and investigate, not to push the skinny!! Be sure to let us know what you find.

Being that it was 25K reman, could be an internal goofball job that just fell apart.

Did you check the oil level, I had a split injector that filled the motor up with fuel and diluted the oil to where it had no oil pressure at idle.

the gauge is a fake, there is a switch that is set at i believe 6 pounds, when the pressure exceeds 6 pounds the ecm sends a signal to the gauge to read about 2/3 scale. you have oil pressure but below 6 pounds at idle. i have seen some horrible reman jobs, do not drive it, if it is a piston failure it will throw the rod through the block, it only takes a couple of hours to pull the head to see what you have
