Help - Replaced batteries now truck won't start

Hello everyone - batteries seemed low so I replaced batteries, one at a time and now the truck turns over really nice but it won't start.

With the key switch in the on / run position, there is a relay solenoid clicking about every .5 seconds. The relay solenoid is located high in the firewall on the far driver side.

Any help in diagnosing the problem would be appreciated.

Today is turning crappy - I now can not send a picture of the relay to my e-mail address from my dad's phone. Murphy is well and hanging with me today.

Merry christmas, happy new year.

Is that relay hanging there on the firewall like an add-on? I'm guessing that it's part of the harness for the fuel lift pump retrofit kit that moves the lift pump to the fuel tank. Have a good look at that relay and its wiring. There will be a power feed wire with an inline fuse leading away from the relay and attached to either the battery post or the stud on the PDC. Another branch will lead from the relay to the rear of the fuel filter canister, and plug in to the old lift pump connector. Have a look and make sure all those connections are good and didn't get bumped. It sounds to me like the lift pump may not be getting energized.

Truck won't start

here is the picture of the relay - I don't think it is an add on, I think it could have been relocated.

what is also weird is that I tried pulling the codes off the dash and I can't get it to do it. I did the switch on / off 5 times fast and keep it in the on position, I thought this would give me the codes.

Problem solved

Problem solved - there is a ground post just in front of the battery that screws to the fender. In order to get the batter out, this likely needs to be removed. I had reconnected the ground from the battery post to the fender bolt but I did not reconnect the second ground wire which seems to be coming from the side of the engine (difficult to see).

Thanks everyone for your help / support.
