Question What's new in the intercooler word

With my new injection pump, my EGT will pass 1200° in a heart beat. Looking for way to cool it back down. Are there any easy upgrades for intercoolers? Last I heard was the PS intercooler. Requires more fab work than I can do though. Anything else out there that's not so fab dependent?

On your '92? Not what you're asking but an HE351CW would drop your EGT's by at least 200* - I went from your same turbo to an HX35 and dropped an easy 100*...

It's the 92. I've been looking for an HE351CW, but their rare as hens teeth and worth their weight in gold up here in AK. Shipping adds another big chunk of change. So far I haven't found one locally or one cheap enough to offset the shipping to make it worth while. I'm also thinking the 7 hole injectors may be part of the problem now that I have a 12mm VE pump.

Okay, so I may have found a reman HE351CW on fleebay. What other parts do I need to install it? I have a 4" exhaust, but it has a 3" flange.

PDR Diesel used to have an improved 1st gen intercooler that was a bolt on deal with no core support mods required. Not sure if they still carry that item.

I have seen a few people cut off the old flange and weld on a new flange on their pre existing down pipe.

The second options would be to buy a small "dual flange adapter" and another V-band clamp.
The second choice will push the down pipe back towards the cab the thickness of that adapter flange though.

The final and most expensive option would be buy a new DP with the proper flange.

Dieseltuff lists them on its website for the 3rd gen Dodges, but I don't see them offered for the 1st gen anywhere on a quick web search.

Have you checked out all the other forums? Maybe someone's selling one or knows where to find a HE351CW.

I've been using the search box on this and other forums, but only finding vague and incomplete information. Maybe I'm not using the correct key word/words.
I knew I was going to have to weld a 4" flange on my down pipe. But I've heard the HE351CW doesn't have a 4" outlet, it's some other size I haven't been able to identify yet though I have seen an adapter. Just need to know which one. Also I've heard it doen't have the same manifold flange size, T3 vs T4. I was hoping to find a write up detailing the installation of one.
I've search other forums for a used one, but couldn't find any. The one on fleebay is a reman and for a reasonable price.

We no longer have a source for the 1st gen intercoolers. Sorry. Do have a very reasonable source for new he351cw’s & even a genuine holset 10cm housing for the h1c’s or hx35’s.

The he351cw has an approx 4.25” turbine outlet. There are a few companies out there that sell a weld on flange & clamp for it. Google is your friend.

I'm scrapping the HE 351 idea. Too much work to adapt it. I need simple, maybe an HX35/40.
