Body parts
Hey all, while working on my truck this weekend I grabbed what I believe to be is a rocker panel and my hand went right through it. Bondo... Is this the right part?
I think it's a rocker panel, rockauto has them for about 18$ per side which isn't to bad. If that is the right part, what's the difference between the slip on and factory? I can peel it off the cab and then tac weld it back on.

Yes that's the rocker panel. You might want to take a magnet to the other body parts in the same area; outer door bottom, fender bottoms, etc before you order. I used to do this same check BEFORE I bought a car or truck that was noticeably repainted.

I'm going to have to do the very same thing....my rocker panel and outer edge of the floor where they meet is rusted pretty bad. And this is after getting my truck repainted and body work done just 2 years ago.
