Hello from VA Beach

Hello, been around looking at posts for awhile and figured I might as well introduce myself. Got a 00 2500 with about 210,000 miles on it. Its been a great truck, and I finally bought a Glacier Fuel Boss today. TRE is going to help me out with the install. If you haven't dealt with TRE in VA then you need to. Tim has been a great help. I don't know a whole lot about diesel's other than the fact that I won't ever own a gasser again. I know you have seen my truck around, extended bed and the whole thing is painted with black bedliner, can't miss it. I appreciate any help or suggestions that you have about owning a diesel and maintenance or anything that you have to say. Come Jan I will be joining the ILDTR, off to go push booters at boot camp. Thanks for the love from VADTR.

Junior

Dang, havent seen that your truck yet. Navy here too. Good luck in Boot Camp, It's really not much of a Boot Camp anymore. Best info I can give you, is dont stand out! Blend in and you'll sail right through. Do what youre told when your told, and you'll be leaps and bounds ahead of most of the knuckleheads that will be there with you. Whats rate are signed up for? Shoot me a PM if you have any Navy, or Truck questions.

I have been in the Navy for ten years and am going to Great Lakes to be a DI or RDC or whatever you want to call them nowadays. What is your rate?

Ah, sorry, must've misread your bootcamp post. Im going on 7 years in. Im an Airframer (AM) over at HSC-2 in Norfolk. I dont know about you, but I really didnt want orders to VA, and if I stay in, I'll make the extra effort to never return. Not my cup of tea at all. The wife is also enlisted, and she feels the same. Anyways, enough ranting, hopefully I'll see you around.

I have seen a bunch of trucks running transmissions by tim and i have not seen one fail. These trucks were changing gears sled pulling and shooting nos. and running in the 11's and 12's drag racing.

97-12v how much of a pain was it to install your nv4500 in place of the 47re and if you dont mind me asking how much more was it over just replacing the stock tranny?

It was more work taking the automatic stuff out than putting the nv4500 in.
