Which of you'ns have installed the pyro with removing the turbo and which have done it with the vaccum/magnent trick? The reason I ask is I have yet to do mine AND install the fuel pres. line to diaphram and hose to it as well. If yall dont mind I'll wait one more weekend and we could do it out there. It's completely up to yall. Vern Edit - It turns out I have either a three day or four day weekend (It's up to the BDE CDR) and I'm not on the duty roster so I'll be there come H*ll or High water.

You think we/I would be happier and better off if it is hooked up direct? I'm new to this so whatever has worked for yall I will probaly do on mine. Plus I could send the isolator and SS hose back for a refund!! Thanks, Vern

Hook it up direct. An isolator will most likely fail over time and cause you more grief than it's worth. Properly installed, a mechanical gauge in the cab won't leak. Most folks here are running 'em that way.

Yep and have a needle valve inline so if there ever was a leak it can be turned off easily

I knew the Smarty could add pressure, but that is something I want to turn down while not "playing". I want that particular item to be adjustable. I don't recall hearing about alot of problems with the TS-MP8. Maybe I need to watch the threads about them a little closer.

I don't want to have to "unload"/"Reload" the Smarty to have or NOT have extra pressure. Luvnacummins I believe was around 570ish with just a Smarty/MP8/large single turbo.....while still running stock trans.

He has twins now though.

I believe pressure in moderation won't hurt much. Running around with pressure all the time will. right?

If I decide to lose the isolator and go straight into the cab with the fuel....where/what is a good needle valve to go with? Suggestions on the valve and where to buy? TIA

Man...just drill it and dont worry about the shavings.....they will pass throught the turbo with out any issue due to its spinning at VERY low RPM at idle and the exhaust fins are very durable. I have never once had an issue. IF you really wanted to keep shavings out of the exhaust.....drill it with the truck running. Just ware some glasses.

I got my needle valve from surplus center for a buck... Nice stout NPT tapped, good locking valve that is stiff to turn so it doesn't wander.

I've tapped one and had a bit of tape over the exhaust to create some back pressure... them shavings just flew out the engine... Safety glasses would have been nice!

I just bought a CURT Gooseneck Hitch plate to put in my 5th wheel hitch rails. I hope I never need it, but if the need arises........you can't pull a GN without it.

Ok thanks. I'll prob try NAPA first.

I am just not familiar with needle valves....brands, types etc. Not sure exactly what I should buy for my set up.
