My Autometer electric gauge use to have a mind of it's own... after 40,000 miles. Sometimes read high also. Pulled down as expected, under power, but idled anywhere from 14-18 psi. Never felt or sounded differently...so didn't worry too much.
My guess was always sending unit?
Westach is suppose to be a cut above Autometer but....?

I've had good luck with the Westach gear. I had one sending unit failure with my 0-15 setup. The sender developed an internal leak and had to be replaced. When I switched to the 0-30psi gauge, I gave the old setup to my brother-in-law and it's still running on his truck.

I'll have to pull out my mechanical test gauge and check the pressure to confirm the gauge reading under normal circumstances, just have to find a Schrader valve someone to put into my test port. Anyone know a good place to pick up a Schrader with a 1/8" NPT male end?

I've got a mechanical DiPricol on the shelf that I need to get installed at some point. Just gotta find some time to get up under the dash and dig through some wiring (couple of other gremlins to track down while I'm in there). I hate having to go into the wiring more than I have to.

Ok need some input... Some think they are gay, personally think some are pretty funny and better than YGK4UG... Still hate TX makes me have a front plate...

Plates..
PPUMPD or DSLTRK
(P-Pumped) or (Diesel Truck) for the dodge

if I did DSLTRK for the dodge then I could do DSLCAR for the Yetta!

I like "PPUMPD"!

I thought about getting a personlized plate for my truck but it is my understanding they make you pay the fee every single year. $80 or $90 iirc. Ridiculous!!!!!!!!!! Why not pay it once.....and then it's your plate for 8 years?

P7100 is what I really wanted, but taken.

The plates I found are $40/year... Still pretty steep, but what the heck

Will they split it up like Mike had to do on XLR 8R?
Kind of ruins it, IMO.

Move to OK. Our new plates look just like TX .... but only back plate required.

How about HOT RAM and HOT BUG?

"PPUMPD" is good, but you'll have to explain to some people what it means. Otherwise they'll just think your "pumped", but with a stutter.

What about "17:1" or if your pushing 50lbs, 60lbs, etc in boost just do "60 psi"

Have you done any upgrades to your TDI? I know a couple of folks in Nebraska that do some wicked things to those little boogers.

Sorry for hijacking your thread but I figured I should try and see if I can meet anybody through here since I live in North TX during the summer. Yeah I know, mine isn't a I-6 but I am in the market for a low mileage 2002 24v, just need time to find the right one. The Ole Chevy gets me by for now.

Brian, go for "PPUMPED"

(You might have to explain it doesn't stand for that device from the Austin Power's Movie that made him have to say "That's not my bag baby")
