Anyone heading to the Texas Diesel Nationals in Ennis this weekend?

I'm heading to Durant for 'husband' duties, just wanted to see if anyone else was going. A friend of mine from Giddings was supposed to be taking his "new to him" '02 out there to see what it will do on the dyno, but haven't heard yet if he's going to make it.

Watched him run. Looks like he was having problems.

Newly BOMBed 6-speed and first time on the track...I wouldn't be surprised.

He was planning to hit the dyno, but since it wasn't there he was talked into racing. I'll have to get the scoop from him.

Yeah, said he missed Qual #1 because the flagged him for mud on the rockers. On #2 he broke all four loose off the line.

Said he lost by .054. Not bad for the first time out with the truck, especially since it was just built up a couple of weeks ago.

Glad I didn't try if he got flagged for mud on the rockers. I got mud on my toolbox.

Has anyone replaced their emergency brake cable? Mine went to the floor Saturday and is loose toward the front. I need to replace it before I can't park on my ski slope driveway again.

As far as I know, I'm still good for the 28th.

I've never replaced the cable, but it doesn't seem like too bad of a job since it should just be a matter of threading the new cable through the existing floor grommet.

If you need pictures of a working model, let me know and I'll go snap a few in the garage.

Thanks for the offer, but after getting back under there, the slack in the end going to the foot pedal stopped without the cable coming out. After further inspection, of something I know little to nothing about, it looks like it is the cable that goes to the rear passenger side. This is the same side that the little connector broke off of a few years ago. Mike welded it and it has been holding ever since. Guess I'll just have to wait and get it on level ground with space enough to take the tire off and look at it. Sure wish that a-hole hadn't stolen my floor jack and stands!
